A Breath of Dedication: Celebrating Respiratory Care Graduates

The atrium of Rock Valley College’s Stenstrom Student Center was filled with emotion and pride on Wednesday, May 14, as friends, family, faculty, and clinical partners gathered to honor the Respiratory Care Program’s Class of 2025. The pinning ceremony recognized graduates for their academic achievements and unwavering dedication to a profession that literally helps people breathe.

Sankofa Ceremony Celebrates Legacy, Resilience, and Achievement at RVC

Since 2009, RVC has annually hosted the Sankofa Ceremony and Celebration. This year's event occurred on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Stenstrom Student Center Atrium on RVC's main campus.

Expanding Access and Opportunity

Illinois has an opportunity to take a bold, student-centered step forward by allowing community colleges to offer select, high-demand baccalaureate degrees. As president of Rock Valley College, I strongly support this legislation, not to compete with universities but to complement them.
