Guidelines for Media Story Requests:
- Please provide more than one hour's notice for interview requests. While we strive to meet media deadlines, many faculty members are teaching during the day, and we aim to maintain a seamless learning environment for our students.
- Campus footage (b-roll) is available upon request.

About RVC
Founded in 1964, Rock Valley College is a comprehensive two-year community college in Rockford, Illinois, offering more than 100 courses for transfer, career programs, and certificates. Rock Valley College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. RVC is also recognized by the Illinois Board of Higher Education and by the Illinois Community College Board.
The college district is comprised of Boone and Winnebago counties and portions of Stephenson, Ogle, McHenry, and DeKalb counties. In addition to the main campus, RVC operates programs at the following locations: Advanced Technology Center (ATC), Aviation Career Education Center (ACEC), Bell School Road Center, RVC Downtown, and Samuelson Road Center.
Rock Valley College athletics has won 27 NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) national championships. Since 2011 alone, the RVC women's tennis, women's basketball, volleyball, men's basketball, and softball teams have brought home national titles, including four championships in seven years for women's basketball, three championships in men’s & women’s bowling in 2 years and 8 straight championships for softball.
The college Theatre Department offers year-round opportunities for students and community members. The Starlight Theatre is housed in the award-winning outdoor Bengt Sjostrom Theatre, which features a movable roof.
