RVC Refugee and Immigrant Services Offers Free Citizenship Classes

Rock Valley College Refugee and Immigrant Services will offer free classes to help eligible residents prepare to become United States citizens.

Citizenship classes will be offered at Rock Valley College’s Main Campus in Rockford and at Belvidere High School beginning in August. Registration is required before attending, and participants must have a valid permanent resident card, commonly known as a “Green Card,” to register.

Classes will cover information and skills needed to prepare for the U.S. citizenship process. Free assistance with citizenship applications also is available by appointment.

• Citizenship Class #1: Aug. 15–Oct. 10, 2026
  Saturdays, 9–11:30 a.m.
• Citizenship Class #2: Oct. 17–Dec. 12, 2026
  Saturdays, 9–11:30 a.m.
• Citizenship Class #3 – Spanish: Sept. 19–Nov. 21, 2026
  Saturdays, noon–2 p.m.

Belvidere High School

• Citizenship Class #4: Sept. 16–Nov. 18, 2026
  Wednesdays, 6–8 p.m.
