Jefferson High School Wins Second Straight Global Economic Summit

Jefferson High School captured their second consecutive championship title at the 2008 Global Economic Summit of High School Students held at Rock Valley College on Saturday, December 13, 2008.

ESL Classes at Belvidere High School Cancelled

Rock Valley College's Adult Education English as a Second Language (ESL) classes that meet at Belvidere High School are cancelled for Tuesday evening, December 16.

RVC to Celebrate Graduation of First Golden Eagle Manufacturing Students
[December 11, 2008]

The initial cohort of students participating in the Golden Eagle Manufacturing (GEM) partnership of Rock Valley College and Woodward Governor will graduate on Friday, December 12, 2008. The ceremony will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the RVC Student Center Atrium.

Rock Valley College Holiday Schedule

Rock Valley College closes at 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 for the holidays. The college offices will reopen on a regular schedule at 8 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2009.

The Board of Trustees of Community College District #511 (Rock Valley College) will meet at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in room 141 of the Woodward Technology Center for a study session, a Truth-in-Taxation Hearing at 6:00 p.m. in room 117 of the Woodward Technology Center followed by the regular board meeting at 6:15 p.m. in room 117 of the Woodward Technology Center.

Rock Valley College and Patriots' Gateway Community Center Partner to Assist Burmese Youth
[November 18, 2008]

The Rock Valley College Refugee and Immigrant Services Program provides assistance for the newly arrived refugees in Northern Illinois.  The program recently assisted in the registration process for 65 Burmese youth ages 5-17, who are scheduled to start after-school programming on Monday, November 18, 2008 at the Patriots' Gateway Community Center. 

Volleyball: Golden Eagles nab several post-season honors

After completing a season with the most wins in Rock Valley College volleyball history, it comes as no surprise that several Golden Eagles have been rewarded with post-season honors.

Rock Valley College Police Department Awarded COPS Technology Grant
[November 5, 2008]

The Rock Valley College Department of Public Safety will receive a grant of $49,750 from the U.S. Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services technology program (COPS). COPS provides funds to establish and enhance a variety of technical equipment and programs to encourage the continuation and advancement of community policing efforts within police jurisdictions.

RVC Hall of Fame welcomes three new members

Please join us for the 2008 RVC Foundation Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Room (PAR). A reception will immediately follow in the AMCORE Commons area of the Estelle M. Black Library. Three new inductees will join the ranks of 23 previously inducted members. They exemplify Rock Valley College's finest and provide role models for all students.
