Invest in Your Future
Nearly half of our students receive some financial assistance in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, and student employment programs. Several local organizations and individuals offer private scholarships. The amounts of awards vary and can help defray the costs of your courses, books, and living expenses.
You need to complete a 2009-10 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov to see if you are eligible for assistance. You may file this form anytime after January 1, 2009. Computers with internet access are available for your use at the RVC Financial Aid Office, on the top floor of the Student Center.
You may need to obtain a separate application form for any outside scholarship for which you wish to apply. Keep in mind that each scholarship program has its own application procedures and deadlines.
Rock Valley College offers funding assistance provided by private donors, the RVC Foundation, and other state and community sources. New and current full-time and part-time students are encouraged to apply. Scholarship applications may be obtained from the Financial Aid office in the Student Center on the main campus. Scholarship application materials must be submitted to the Financial Aid office by the May 19, 2008 deadline.
