Local Students to Engage in RVC’s Annual Sister to Sister Conference

The Rock Valley College Intercultural Student Services Department will host their annual Sister to Sister Conference on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rock Valley College’s Samuelson Road Center, 4151 Samuelson Rd, Rockford, IL 61109.

The conference hopes to inspire young women to believe in themselves and know that they are strong enough to overcome any obstacle, past, present, and future, with the acknowledgment of their own self-worth.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Have dignity. Get empowered. Be persistent.”  Participating students will attend workshops on numerous topics led by prominent female leaders from the area, ending the day with a panel discussion (12:30-1:00 p.m) in the commons area.

Presenters will include: Delia Rodriguez, Paula Malone (Health and Technical Career Services), Jessica Oladapo, Kaili Lee, Luevinus Muhammad, Leslie Anderson, Nancy Razon, Nichole Giovanni, Terrica Huntley, Tomiko Buchanan, and Vanessa Mendoza.

Schools to be in attendance: Auburn, East, Guilford, Jefferson, Roosevelt, Harlem, and Dundee Crown High School from Chicago.
