The Association of Latin American Students (ALAS), a student organization at Rock Valley College, has worked with the RVC Foundation to establish the ALAS Scholarship Fund.

This endowed fund will ensure that at least one member of ALAS will be impacted financially each year for the lifetime of the College, thus creating a lasting legacy on the RVC campus. The ALAS organization's passion for lessening the financial burden of obtaining a quality education, coupled with their strong work ethic and determination, will serve as an example to other student groups and organizations at RVC.

ALAS is respectfully inviting local businesses or individuals to consider making a gift to help them reach the $10,000 endowed fund requirement. All gifts will be matched 3:1 by a private donor.

Those interested in providing a gift for this scholarship may do so securely online by visiting and typing "ALAS Scholarship" in the "other" gift designation field, or by mailing a check made out to the RVC Foundation to Rock Valley College Foundation, 3301 N. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61114 with "ALAS Scholarship" written in the memo field.

The ALAS student organization is open to all students attending Rock Valley College. The objective of the organization is to promote cultural awareness and to provide support, assistance, and encouragement to RVC students. Their goal is to show students how to effectively empower themselves and become positive leaders and role models not only to their peers, but to their ever growing community.
