What is M.A.P.?
M.A.P. has been designed to meet the growing needs of minority students. A basic element of the program is to provide students with a variety of support services. It provides the opportunity to get to know your peers, and build a support network within the academic environment with staff and instructors. A goal of this program is to foster engagement and participation from students which will strengthen their academic and social skills.
Who should choose M.A.P.?
Did you know that only 17% of the nation's African-Americans and 11% of Hispanics successfully complete four-year degrees? Minority males enrolled at Rock Valley College are at risk of not completing their A.A. or A.S. degrees compared to their non-Hispanic white counterparts. Individuals wishing to complete college level coursework with the intention of pursuing an advanced degree should become an active participant in M.A.P.
