What is the Golden Eagle Scholars program?
 

It is a unique scholarship and leadership development program available to area high school seniors planning to attend Rock Valley College.

Qualified recipients who are selected will receive:

  • A $2400 Scholarship (over the life of your RVC career); $600 per semester renewable up to three additional consecutive semesters, while continuing to meet criteria.
  • Increased opportunity for success both in college and beyond.
  • A well-rounded, engaged college experience.
     

Maximum of 25 students to receive annual scholarship

 

Who is eligible to apply?


Area high school seniors who meet these criteria:

  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 high school grade point average at time of application.
  • Demonstrated participation in extra-curricular activities or community service.
  • College-level placement in reading (19 ACT), English (19 ACT), math (18 ACT), or qualifying results from completed Accuplacer test in Rock Valley College testing center.

 

During your tenure at RVC as a Golden Eagle Scholar you must:

  • enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester.
     
  • participate in at least one, on-going, co-curricular activity each semester.

  • engage in required special leadership development programming through the Golden Eagle Leadership Academy.
