The Estelle M. Black Library at Rock Valley College features nearly 75,000 volumes and more than 650 periodicals, and access to the interlibrary loan system. It also features spaces for individual and group study, and if you get thirsty, there's a coffee shop in the lobby!
RVC competes in NJCAA Division III in football, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, golf, baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis. Not to brag, but we're pretty good at it. Our teams have won seven national championships and we have had more than 100 All-Americans.

Whether you are intent on a career in a fitness or sports-related field, or just want to take courses to improve your abilities, fitness, wellness, and sport may be for you.

These academic options are intended to provide the first two years of a four year baccalaureate program in sport and recreation management, physical education (teaching), athletic training, health education/promotion, and exercise science. Majors in the career paths in Fitness, Wellness, and Sport along with related career paths study anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, methods of teaching and coaching, motor learning, sports psychology, and sport sociology.
Students that choose career paths within the Division of Fitness, Wellness, and Sport along with other related career paths will have the opportunity for employment in elementary or secondary school districts, hospitals, community-based health promotion, sport and fitness organizations, professional sport teams, and university-based sport and fitness programs.
The suggested courses are guidelines only. Students should contact the Academic Chair of the Division of Fitness, Wellness, and Sport for further details about RVC classes. Students should also check with the college or university they plan to transfer to for specific requirements in these programs.
