RVC Breaks Ground on New Campus

Rock Valley College (RVC) officially broke ground on its new Downtown West Campus on Thursday, March 27, celebrating with nearly 100 employees, stakeholders, and community partners in attendance. The campus, located at the intersection of Chestnut and Winnebago Streets in downtown Rockford, will house a variety of programs targeted at adult learners and is scheduled to open in August 2026.

RVC Winter Weather Alert

Due to the winter storm impacting our region, the college will move to a remote workday on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. All buildings will be closed, and only authorized employees will be granted access; no students or visitors will be allowed access to any RVC buildings during the remote workday.


Award-Winning Filmmaker Inducted as RVC Distinguished Alumnus

This year’s nomination for RVC’s 2023 distinguished alumnus has been five years in the making. Bing Liu, a 2008 graduate of Rock Valley College, received a nomination for this significant honor thanks to his RVC mass communications professor, Jerry LaBuy. The review committee, comprised of faculty and staff, voted unanimously and without hesitation to welcome Bing into the Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame.


RVC Students Receive Medals in National Cyber League Competition

Four RVC Computer and Information Systems students recently received prestigious GOLD and Diamond medals during the National Cyber League Competition.
