The writing pyramid was created by consultants of Rock Valley College’s Writing Center and is intended to show the prioritization of concerns most common in student papers.
While it is always the consultant’s intention to be as thorough as possible in any session conducted with a student writer, our primary goal is to help faculty prepare you to meet the variety of writing challenges in your academic career. Faculty and students alike reserve the right—through referral forms or session reports, respectively—to request the consultants’ directed attention toward more specific or prominent concerns relevant to individual writers and assignments.
