In light of the evolving Covid-19 public health crisis, the College has determined it to be in the best interests of the College community and the greater community college district to extend spring break an additional week for students only.
This additional week off will not affect a student’s ability to complete course requirements.
All employees including faculty are expected to report to work as planned the week of March 16, 2020.
During this week, RVC faculty and staff will work to develop alternate modes of course delivery as appropriate so the College can be prepared to replace face-to-face instruction should the situation escalate in the coming days and weeks. Faculty will work within their departments to prepare their instruction to include alternate modes of delivery to support our students to complete their course requirements. While there will be no classes next week, faculty and staff will use their time to prepare and transition current courses to an online delivery as needed.
The College’s decisions are based on information from the Center for Disease Control, Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Winnebago County Health Department. The College understands that this notice is not ideal with respect to timing, but the nature of this rapidly evolving crisis necessitates immediate action.
Thank you for your continued support for our students and the college community.
