There will be an open house event for Rock Valley College’s new Media Maker Lab (MML) on Monday, March 16, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The MML, located in the Estelle M. Black Library in the Educational Resource Center (ERC) on RVC’s main campus is a place where RVC students, staff, and faculty can get help creating videos, audio projects, podcasts, captioning, and other forms of media for their courses. The lab is part of RVC’s new Online Learning Initiative.
Features of the MML include a podcast and audio recording suite, a collaboration space for project scheduling and preparation with the lab's staff, an audio and video editing lab, and a full video production studio for producing green screen work, guest speaker interviews, lightboard lecture projects, and more.
Media are invited to join us for the open house that will feature some opening remarks at 10am followed by some live demos of the equipment. RVC faculty, staff, and students are welcome any time from 10am to 1 pm to tour the space and see live equipment demos.
In addition to the new MML for faculty and student support for online courses, the first phase of RVC’s Online Learning Initiative includes a more robust schedule of online course offerings for summer and fall, as well as the opportunity to earn full online degrees, including the College’s Associate of Arts, Accounting, and Business Administration degrees, and full online certificates, including Mobile Application Development, Microsoft Server Administration, Business Fundamentals, Management, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship.
