Over 550 High School Students to Compete in Mathematics Contest at Rock Valley College

Approximately 580 students from 30 area high schools will compete in the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics High School Regional Mathematics Contest at Rock Valley College on Saturday, February 22, 2020. The competition will begin at 10 a.m. in various locations on RVC’s main campus.

Campus Contest Locations: Karl J. Jacobs Center for Science and Math, Educational Resource Center- Performing Arts Room, and Classroom Building I (CLI).

Awards will be presented at 2:00, 2:30, 3:15, and 3:45 p.m.

The contest has students in four divisions competing in ten different events as individuals and as team members. The RVC contest is one of 21 regional sites across the state.  Individuals and teams scoring well at RVC advance to the state finals, held Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the University of Illinois.

This is the 40th year that the Rock Valley College Mathematics Department has hosted the regional.
