Rock Valley College is pleased to announce that Tiana McCall has been hired as the new Vice President of Community Outreach & Strategic Partnerships. In this role, McCall will work to create a greater focus and awareness of the College and its offerings to the community, and increase community relationships, partnerships, and outcomes.
McCall most recently served as Chief Strategic Initiatives Officer for Winnebago County. Prior to that, she was appointed and sworn into office as the first African-American County Clerk of Winnebago County, where she served from February 1, 2018 through December 3, 2018. She has over 15 years of experience working in social services both in Illinois and Georgia. McCall has worked at the local, state, and federal levels via the United States House of Representatives, mental health agencies, public aid, foster care and adoption services, adolescent residential facilities, community college, and elementary schools.
“Since my return to the Rockford area, I have found through my daily observations via community involvement and work experiences that our citizens desperately need a quality steward,” says McCall. “As a result, for the past decade I have been determined to achieve just that by actively serving this community in pursuit of a better Rockford. I see no better place to continue that work than Rock Valley College.”
In May of 2018, McCall was appointed by Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara to serve on the Davis Park Task Force. She also volunteers or serves as a board member for numerous community civic organizations, including Goodwill of Northern Illinois, the Wabongo Leadership Council, Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Rockford Association for Minority Management (RAMM), the Golden Apple Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. She previously volunteered or served as a board member for the YWCA of Northwestern Illinois, YMCA Black and Latino Achievers, Rockford Alcohol Free Teens (RAFT), Rockford College MBA Advisory Board, Brothers and Sisters United Against HIV and AIDS (BASUAH), and Rockford Youth Initiative.
McCall is a graduate of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce Leadership Rockford program and was a recipient of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce Top 40 Leaders under 40 Award and a 2015 and 2012 nominee for Who’s Who, Rockford's Top 25 African-American Leaders to Watch Award.
McCall earned her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing from Rockford University, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University.
In her free time, McCall enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children.
