A relatively new Adult Education program at Rock Valley College is helping students earn a college certificate while also completing a GED or improving English language skills.
ICAPS is a short-term program where qualifying students earn certificates for in-demand, high-paying jobs, while achieving a GED or improving English language skills.
Students can choose between Industrial Welding, Mechatronics, or Network Technician certificate programs, all of which can be completed in one year or less. A dedicated Transitions Coordinator helps ICAPS students enroll in college and access resources, plus ICAPS students receive academic support in the classroom.
Books and materials are provided to ICAPS students at no cost, plus financial assistance may be available for tuition for those who qualify.
For anyone who wishes to learn more about the program, there will be an ICAPS information session on November 6, 2019, at 7 p.m. at Rock Valley College Downtown (99 East State St., second floor).
