Event Date: Monday, July 23, 2018

Students and parents who need help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can come to Rock Valley College on Monday, July 23, 2018. Representatives from the Financial Aid office of RVC will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Student Center RVC’s main campus (3301 North Mulford Road).

This will also be a great opportunity to learn about courses and programs offered at RVC. Those that attend will get one-on-one help completing the getting started steps and registering for classes.

RVC Financial Aid staff will be on hand to answer questions about financial aid and provide personalized, confidential assistance. FAFSA worksheet forms may be obtained from the RVC Financial Aid office, high school guidance counselor offices, area libraries, or online at FAFSA.gov.

We encourage the community to take advantage of this evening and and bring the kids! We’ll be showing a free movie with popcorn to entertain the kids while you learn about the FAFSA or register for classes.

Attendees needing assistance with FAFSA should plan to bring the following (if available):

  • Social Security Number. Be sure it is correct!
  • Your Alien Registration Number, if you (the student) are not a U.S. citizen.
  • Your 2017 federal tax returns, W-2’s, and other records of income.
  • Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable).
  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable).
  • An FSA ID to sign electronically. (This can be created beforehand at fsaid.ed.gov, or at the time of application). See below for detailed instructions on how to create your FSA ID.
  • List of colleges you would like to attend.

There is NO COST for this service and no appointment is necessary. Questions? Contact the RVC Financial Aid Office at (815) 921-4250 or by email at RVC-FIA@RockValleyCollege.edu.
