Rock Valley College is proud to welcome the eight best teams in the country to Rockford, Illinois for this year’s Women’s Basketball Championship! The 2018 NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball National Tournament will be hosted on RVC’s main campus in the Physical Education Center, 3301 N. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL from March 15-17, 2018.
There will be four games played on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the tournament. Game times each day will be 1 p.m., 3 p.m, 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door for $8/day or $20 for the entire weekend.
To kick start the week of events, Rock Valley College Women’s Basketball will be hosting a basketball clinic at Guilford High School for local youth on Tuesday, March 13. Tamecka Dixon, a two-time WNBA champion, three-time WNBA all-star and 1997 Kansas Jayhawk graduate who played professionally in the WNBA from 1997-2009, will be the clinic’s special guest. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the clinic will begin at 5:30 p.m. on a first come, first served basis. The first 100 partipants will receive a free basketball a t-shirt. The clinic will be hosted by Rock Valley College, Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, RPS 205 and the Rockford Park District.
Preceding the national tournament event on Wednesday, March 14 starting at 6:30 p.m., will be a special Tip-off Banquet for all qualifying teams at Prairie Street Brewhouse. The event will feature Keynote Speaker and special guest, Tamecka Dixon.
