RVC Model UN team chosen as Outstanding Delegation

This past weekend the Rock Valley College Model United Nations team attended the National Model United Nations (NMUN) conference in Washington, D.C.  The RVC team was chosen as an Outstanding Delegation for the third year in a row and was one of just nine schools recognized as Outstanding Delegation.   

Additionally, RVC students Hayley Jackson and Sarah Bliss won Outstanding Delegation in a Committee in the International Conference on Population and Development Beyond 2014.

The NMUN drew delegates from all over the world as more than 650 college/university students participated in discussions of issues at the forefront of international relations. The conference included a crisis simulation in the Security Council and committee briefings by distinguished speakers from the Washington, D.C. diplomatic community.

The delegates from RVC represented the Russian Federation and included:

Abbie Furness, Alexandra Peredna, Anna Sisk, Aysha Uddin (Head Delegate), Brian Neil, Elisaveta Tremud, Hayley Jackson, Jonah Schwach, Katherine Steward, Max Burke, Sarah Bliss, William Madura, and advisors Dr. Martin Quirk, Professor Crystal Dinwiddie, and Mr. James Dewitz.
