Certificate 1 – Fundamentals of Mechatronics

This certificate is only 16 credits! Our first Mechatronics certificate includes courses in mechanical systems, electrical systems, graphics, robotics and automation, and advanced manufacturing.  You'll learn the basics of working safely, reading drawings and schematics, and important components of different Mechatronics systems.

This certificate has no prerequisites or placement testing requirements. Perfect for someone looking for a new career or a career change.

  • Hybrid course instruction will include online learning and hands-on labs. Computer-based instruction is also part of this program.
  • Complete Certificate 1 in just one semester.
  • Classes in Mechatronics are taught in three 5-week course series, spanning a full semester.
  • STU-103 Workplace Ethics is a required 1-credit course for Certificate 1.  It has multiple schedule offerings during the week.

Certificate 2 – Advanced Mechatronics

Certificate 2 courses introduce programmable logic controllers (PLC's), industrial robots and sensors, conveyor systems, control panels, and using prior topics in system-level troubleshooting.
