Golden Eagles Fitness Program is Virtual for Spring 2022!

The Golden Eagles Fitness Program is contininuing in a virtual format on Zoom this spring! The class will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and begins on February 1, 2022. Interested participants can sign up using the CLR spring 2022 registration form. You can access the form by clicking on the blue tab on the right side of the page labeled 'Registration Forms'.

Golden Eagles Virtual Fitness Program is a collaborative effort between the Center for Learning in Retirement and the Department of Fitness, Wellness and Sport at Rock Valley College. This program is geared towards the participants that are looking for an independent exercise routine that can be completed at home.

For the spring 2022 semester, all Golden Eagles participants are required to have their physician complete a detailed medical history and sign a medical release liability form before participating on the first day of the program. This is required annually.  You can access those forms by clicking the blue highlighted text above. You can also pick-up physical copies of these forms at the CLR office at the Bell School Road Center (3350 N Bell School Rd, Rockford).

A variety of resistance bands that participants can use during their workout are available to pick-up at the CLR office at the Bell School Road Center. The four color choices are, Peach-extra light resistance, Orange-light resistance, Green-medium resistance, and Blue-hard resistance.  New members will need to pick up their resistance band prior to the first day of class on February 1.

We want everyone who is interested to be able to participate! We have scholarships available to those with financial need. Contact the CLR Program Director, Tammy Lewis, at (815) 921-3933 for more information. All inquiries are confidential.

How will the virtual class work?

This program meets twice per week for the entire spring semester. To avoid having to go into your email and find the Zoom link for each session, we have designed a better, easier way to access your class. We have created a Golden Eagles PDF that you will save to your desktop from an email. Each time the class meets, you will simply open your computer, click the Golden Eagles PDF on your desktop and click into the session. You will use the same Zoom link each time you access the class. All information to access the class will be emailed to participants one day prior to the class start date.
