The CLR spring semster will run February 6 through May 18, 2023. There will be 136 classes to choose from and will include a combination of IN-PERSON, ONLINE, HYBRID and NEW ZOOM ROOM class options.
The Golden Eagles Fitness Program is continuing in a virtual format on Zoom this spring! The class will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and begins on January 24. Interested participants can sign up using the CLR spring 2023 registration form.
Golden Eagles Virtual Fitness Program is a collaborative effort between the Center for Learning in Retirement and the Department of Fitness, Wellness and Sport at Rock Valley College. This program is geared towards the participants that are looking for an independent exercise routine that can be completed at home.
A variety of resistance bands that participants can use during their workout are available to pick-up at the CLR office at the RVC Bell School Road Center (3350 N Bell School Rd, Rockford, IL 61114). The three color choices are: Peach (lightest resistance), Orange (medium resistance), and Blue (hardest resistance). New members will need to pick up their resistance band prior to the first day of class on January 24.
We want everyone who is interested to be able to participate! We have scholarships available to those with financial need. Contact the CLR Program Director, Tammy Lewis, at (815) 921-3933 for more information. All inquiries are confidential.
For those returning to Golden Eagles, updated medical forms completed by your physician are required annually. If you have not submitted updated medical information to the CLR office for a year, you will need to submit that prior to attending the first class on January 24. If you are unsure if your medical information is updated, contact the CLR office at (815) 921-3931. We would be happy to check on it for you.
All NEW Golden Eagles members must have their physician complete a medical form, as well as a completed Assumption of Risk form and an Informed Consent form prior to attending the first class on January 24. We can fax the medical form to your physician upon request.
This program meets twice per week for the entire spring semester. To avoid having to go into your email and find the Zoom link for each session, we have designed a better, easier way to access your class. We have created a Golden Eagles document (PDF) that you will save to your desktop from an email. Each time the class meets, you will simply open your computer, click the Golden Eagles document (PDF) on your desktop and click into the session. You will use the same Zoom link each time you access the class. All information to access the class will be emailed to participants on Monday, January 23.
All information reflected below will include class information for the spring 2023 semester. If there is a class cancellation, reschedule, or change, you will find that information here. Click to expand the sections for more details.
