Meet the Instructors!

Julie DaleJulie Dale is a Professional Dance Instructor from Sterling, Illinois. Julie has been teaching dance since 1963. A dance master, Julie trains youth, adults and other teachers of dance. Julie also owns the Julie Dale Center and Fine Arts Studio in Sterling.

“Much success can be gained emotionally as well as physically with the incorporation of dance” says Julie. “Dance is for poise, physical fitness and self-esteem. Dance is for everyone.”

Rhonda Torossian CCE Instructor
Rhonda Torossian is a Certified Holistic Health Coach. Her passion has been to learn as much about holistic nutrition for over the last 15 years. She is a recent graduate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition where she has trained in over 100 different dietary theories. Her fascinations in healing your body through the foods we eat led her to her certification from The Raw Food Institute, and as a Live Blood Cell Analysis technician.

John Peterson is the Jazz guitar and Jazz bass instructor for RVC
John Peterson is a singer and songwriter from Rockton, IL. He has played in 30 countries and recorded several albums of his original music. He is also widely known as Blues guitarist extraordinaire Wheatbread Johnson. He is currently working on a new album and a rock opera based on his life called, “Fried Chicken or Redheads?”
 

Dr. Shanti Virdi-Hulsebus CCE Instructor

Dr. Shanti Virdi-Hulsebus practices NUCCA Chiropractic and is a graduate of Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California. She has studied and worked globally as a volunteer, and moved to Illinois recently to join her husband, Dr. Kyle Hulsebus, in family practice.

 

Stephanie Walters CCE Private Lessons InstructorStephanie Walters is certified as a sport yoga (SY) instructor. Her studies and training specialized in the athlete’s body and performance through flexibility and form. Her teaching style is based on Vinyasa yoga, or flow yoga. Even though her training is sport-based, she feels that mindfulness and spirituality are an extremely important part of her yoga practice and teachings. Her advice for someone new coming to yoga: Breathe, listen to your body, drink water, be kind to yourself and be patient with yourself and know that this is about YOU, it is not a competition and we are all, always practicing.  Namaste’

Tony Filippone CCE Private Lesson InstructorTony Filippone is the Author of the Amazon Best Selling Book, "Financial Planning For The Not Yet Wealthy" that teaches what the average guy needs to know about money but no one is telling him. Mr. Filippone is the owner of the Rockford Retirement Resource Center. His company is devoted to helping middle income families better manage their retirement planning by avoiding the little mistakes that can often turn into major problems.

Tony is a Registered Financial Consultant, an Investment Advisor Representative, a Fiduciary, and also holds various insurance licenses. He has been active in the Financial Services industry since 1993 and his credentials can be verified at www.IARFC.com, as well as with The SEC and the Illinois Insurance Department.

Eric Walker CCE Private Lessons Instructor
Eric Walker (B.M.E., M.C. M.) holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in vocal music and has taught singing for more than 20 years. Embracing a variety of vocal styles, from classical to contemporary, Eric’s students have won multiple lead roles in musical theater, aced university auditions, recorded music videos, sung lead in rock bands, and reached the higher levels of American Idol auditions.

Mitchell Faith is a teacher candidate in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at Rockford University to become a certified K-12 French teacher. He has studied French language and culture for 7 years. During the past 7 years, Mitchell has obtained a minor degree in French from Rockford University, received the Sally Lo Ware Award for Distinguished Performance in Modern Language from Rockford University, studied at the University of Québec at Montréal, and traveled in 7 francophone countries.

Karen Sue McCarthy loves teaching all that she knows with others. In this way, her students can continue moving forward the idea of gift-giving to others – no matter the occasion. There’s nothing more special than a homemade knit or crochet piece made from the heart.
