SPRING 2020 registration is OPEN!
 

The Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) aims to help women, minorities, and disadvantaged individuals gain acceptance into the construction trades. During the 14 week class, participants will engage in 450 hours of skilled-trades preparation and apprenticeship readiness training with the goal of applying for and obtaining local union apprenticeship opportunities.

HCCTP is offered twice a year (Fall and Spring) and the admission process is competitive—not all who apply will be accepted.

HCCTP is at no cost to the participant as it is funded entirely by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The next class begins March 2, 2020. Information Sessions and Testing will begin in January 2020. Apply below.

Applying to HCCTP requires several steps, beginning with a mandatory Information/Testing Session.

Application Checklist
 

  1. Register for and attend an Information Session.
    *NOTE: All Information Sessions are in Rm. 129 at RVC's Center for Career Education (Stenstrom) located at 4151 SCCE Road, Rockford, IL 61109
  2. Math and Reading Testing – Completed after a session for those wanting to proceed
  3. Potential candidates are invited for an interview, then selections are made
  4. Drug testing
