ESL

The ESL (English as a Second Language) program can help you improve your listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Our classes range from providing basic language skills for beginners to helping advanced students prepare for higher education, further training, or a career. We offer classes several times during the year at numerous locations throughout the community.

Can you tell me more about the ESL classes?

ESL classes start several times throughout the year and meet 2-4 times each week in the morning or evening. We have several locations throughout the area where classes take place.
 

Who are our students?
 

Our students represent a wide variety of cultural and educational backgrounds. Classes are only for those who are 17 years or older who are NOT enrolled in high school.
 

What is the cost of an ESL class?

Classes are FREE for residents of the Rock Valley College district.

Academic ESL Program
 

The Academic ESL Program is a 15-week, full-time academic ESL program designed to help non-native English speakers transition to academic/credit classes at Rock Valley College.

Approximately 36.58% ($406,612) of total grant dollars to the Adult Education Program are provided through Federal funding.
