Ready for Class?

We are excited for another wonderful semester at Rock Valley College! We understand that with the recent events, there might be some confusion and concern about this fall semester. We are all in this together and have compiled some information to help you answer any questions you may have.

Below you will find a checklist with resources and supports available to you that will help you be successful once classes start.

  1. Utilize the Tutoring Center, Writing Center, and Math Lab for assistance in your courses. Seek help early in the semester! 
     
  2. RVC Library and Computer Labs may be available for use this semester. Due to storm damage, these openings are delayed. Check back later for more info. 
     
  3. The Office of Student Success offers several online learning tools. View more at Student Success Resources and Student Success in an Online Learning Environment. You can also reach someone from the office through that site for support. 
     
  4. Personal and Success Counseling is free and confidential, focusing to help individuals with difficulties of homesickness/difficulty transitioning into college, crisis/suicide prevention, depression, anxiety, family and relationship concerns.
     
  5. If you are a student with a disability who may require assistance in accessing any of the college's programs or services, please contact Disability Support Services.
     
  6. Get Involved with student organizations and clubs and Follow RVC on social media. 
     
  7. EAGLES Nest Food Pantry is a program that collects and stores foods to distribute free-of-charge to ALL RVC students. This includes those enrolled in GED and ESL classes.
     
  8. Sign up for RVC Alerts to get the latest news on campus happenings, weather warnings, and other important information. 

Fall Class Formats

The Fall 2020 semester at RVC will be held in online, hybrid, and in-person formats. Below is an easy to read visual explaining each of the course options being offered and how you can tell in Online Services what mode of instruction your classes will follow.
