Earth Day 2020 Guest Speaker

GUEST SPEAKER: Joel F. Salatin is an American farmer, lecturer, and author who has authored 12 books and countless articles for numerous magazines. He co-owns, with his family, Polyface Farm in Swoope,
Virginia. It is featured in the New York Times bestseller Omnivore’s Dilemma and award-winning documentary “Food Inc."

His speaking and writing reflect dirt-under-the-fingernails experience punctuated with mischievous humor. He passionately defends small farms, local food systems, and the right to opt out of the conventional food paradigm. Four generations of his family currently live and work on the farm.

In his presentation, “HEALING THE PLANET ONE PLATE AT A TIME” Salatin will address the link between what we eat and the landscape legacy we bequeath to our unborn children. Soil, people, energy, economics, plants and animals, soul, and scalability are the seven discussion topics.

Books will be for sale at the event. Book signing to occur after the presentation.

This FREE event is sponsored by the Four Rivers Environmental Coalition.
