RVC competes in NJCAA Division III in men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, golf, baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis. Not to brag, but we're pretty good at it. Our teams have won seven national championships and we have had more than 100 All-Americans.

Upward Bound

Know someone with a dream?

If college is part of that dream, the Upward Bound program at Rock Valley College can help make that dream a reality. Through tutoring, field trips, college tours, and career mentoring, high school students who qualify get the chance to grow personally and academically so they are ready to succeed in college.

QUALIFYING FOR THE UPWARD BOUND PROGRAM

Upward Bound is open to students at Jefferson, Harlem, East and Belvidere High Schools who meet the following criteria:

  • Student must have completed the 8th grade, but not yet begun 12th grade.
  • Neither parent (living with student) has completed a bachelor's degree.
  • Family income meets low-income guidelines set by U.S. Department of Education.
  • Student has need for academic support to achieve their full potential in postsecondary education.
  • Student is a citizen, national or permanent resident of the United States.
  • Student must meet academic requirements.
