At Rock Valley College, small business is a big priority. Our Small Business Development Center offers, at no cost, business counseling services to help entrepreneurs expand existing businesses or start up new ones. Discuss your business with an expert counselor. We can help in the areas of accounting, legal issues, loan proposals, marketing, advertising, and promotion. Counseling is one on one and confidential.
The SBDC can help you avoid the pitfalls and make sense of the complexities of operating your own business. Call us today for a free consultation, phone (815) 921-2081, or e-mail us. Please note that we are now located at the EIGERlab, 605 Fulton Avenue. For directions to the EIGERlab.

Franchises for VeteransReturning veterans can get a leg up on starting and owning a franchise business, thanks to an initiative known as VetFran. This effort, an initiative of the International Franchising Association, helps veterans who want to acquire a franchise by allowing them to make a purchase with only 10% of the required down payment. More than 200 companies, including household names like Dunkin’ Donuts and Midas, participate in this effort. Since it was started, VetFran has assisted more than 600 veterans who have purchased franchises. This is one effective means to help ease the transition for returning veterans.
