RVC competes in NJCAA Division III in football, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, golf, baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis. Not to brag, but we're pretty good at it. Our teams have won seven national championships and we have had more than 100 All-Americans.

The Estelle M. Black Library at Rock Valley College features nearly 75,000 volumes and more than 650 periodicals, and access to the interlibrary loan system. It also features spaces for individual and group study, and if you get thirsty, there's a coffee shop in the lobby!

Two Rock Valley College students, John Ramos and Gerardo Tirado, took first place in the Cisco Netriders Competition for the State of Illinois. The competition was held at the Cisco Corporate Office in Chicago IL on Nov 4, 2009.

Cisco NetRiders Competitions Bring Together Future Networking Experts From Around the World
The IT Networking competition is being held across the world with theaters divided geographically: Asia, Europe, MiddleEast, Africa, Latin America and the USA and Canada.
Each of the 50 states has their own individual competition which consists of both written and a hands-on component. The competition was open to post-secondary institutions with a team comprised of two students.
Round 1 for Illinois was held October 21st at each school site. There were 50 teams competing across Illinois. John Ramos and Gerardo Tirado scored in the top ten teams and advanced to Round 2.
Round 2 for Illinois was held yesterday Nov 4 at Cisco Corp Sales office in Chicago IL. RVC competed against teams from DeVry, Moraine Valley Community College, and University of Illinois Springfield. Out of the ten teams, John Ramos and Gerardo Tirado took first place.
Round 3 will be held on November 20 and will again consist of both a written and hands?on test, competing against the top teams from each state and teams from Canada.
The winning team will receive a trip to San Jose CA to visit Cisco Corporate headquarters.
