RVC competes in NJCAA Division III in football, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, golf, baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis. Not to brag, but we're pretty good at it. Our teams have won seven national championships and we have had more than 100 All-Americans.

The Estelle M. Black Library at Rock Valley College features nearly 75,000 volumes and more than 650 periodicals, and access to the interlibrary loan system. It also features spaces for individual and group study, and if you get thirsty, there's a coffee shop in the lobby!

Jacqui Lopez of Belvidere was recently awarded the Illinois Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (ILAEOPP) scholarship. The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement and participation in Rock Valley College's Upward Bound program at Belvidere High School. Terri Hlavin, Director of Upward Bound at Rock Valley College, nominated Ms. Lopez for the scholarship.
Jacqui, a May 2009 Belvidere High School graduate, participated in Upward Bound since her freshman year. During this time she organized community service activities, was elected to the Upward Bound Student Leadership Council, and engaged in other extracurricular activities. She is currently enrolled at Loyola University in Chicago, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Social Work.
