Three Rock Valley College sophomores have landed athletic scholarships to play volleyball while finishing their college careers at four-year schools.
Noelle Bennett has accepted a scholarship from the Illinois Institute of Technology (NAIA). Bennett was an All-Conference and All-Region selection in 2007 after leading the NJCAA in aces. As a freshman, Bennett set the single season mark for aces with 156 and followed that up with 102 in her sophomore season, good for second best in school history. She was also recently honored as an Academic All-American after finishing with a 4.0 GPA.
Merisa Amborn has accepted a scholarship from Florida Southern College (NCAA Division-II). Amborn leaves RVC after earning numerous honors in her two seasons. She was an All-Conference and All-Region selection in both her freshman and sophomore seasons and leaves as RVC's all-time leader in kills with 755 and blocks with 211.
Ashley Yates has accepted a scholarship from Bradley University (NCAA Division I). She was an All-Conference selection in both her freshman and sophomore seasons and an All-Region selection in her sophomore season.
