The Estelle M. Black Library at Rock Valley College features nearly 75,000 volumes and more than 650 periodicals, and access to the interlibrary loan system. It also features spaces for individual and group study, and if you get thirsty, there's a coffee shop in the lobby!

RVC competes in NJCAA Division III in men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, golf, baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis. Not to brag, but we're pretty good at it. Our teams have won seven national championships and we have had more than 100 All-Americans.

Rock Valley College sophomore Simone Coburn will be accepting an athletic scholarship to continue her college career at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbannais, Illinois. Olivet Nazarene competes at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division I level.
Coburn, a 6-0 forward from North Chicago, became the first ever RVC women’s basketball to player to earn All-American honors from the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association). She earned second team honors after the 2007-2008 season and first team honors after the 2008-2009 season. Behind Coburn, the Golden Eagles won a conference title in 2007-2008 and won the regional tournament and earned a trip to nationals this past season.
Coburn’s career highlights include:
• MVP of N4C conference for 2007-2008 season
• MVP for Region IV, Division III for 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons
• Region IV Tournament All-Tournament Team selection in 2008 and 2009
• All-Tournament Team selection at the NJCAA National Tournament in 2009
• Six-time NJCAA Player of the Week in her two seasons
• Scored over 1,000 career points and tallied over 600 career rebounds in two seasons
• Set career highs of 29 points and 25 rebounds for a single game
• Finished one assist shy of a triple-double in a game this season
Coburn will make her signing official on Tuesday, May 12 at 3:00 p.m. on the Rock Valley College main campus (Student Center Room 1222). Olivet Nazarene head coach Doug Porter and RVC head coach Gene Houston will be on hand as Coburn signs.
