Interested in offering an internship, but not sure how it fits within your workplace? The Joint Institute of Engineering and Technology for Aerospace, commonly known as JiET-A, would like to invite aerospace-related small-to-medium size companies to learn more about integrating an intern into your business.
JiET-A connects your company with the next generation of talent and allows you to mold their skill set through hands-on internships. JiET-A is an innovative, community-based initiative specially designed to significantly increase our own aerospace talent pipeline. It combines higher education with real-world work experience at leading aerospace companies in the Rockford Area and throughout Northern Illinois.
Join other like-minded companies at JiET-A's Internship Workshop held at the EIGERlab on Tuesday, October 22 from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM; lunch is provided. JiET-A is affiliated with the following educational institutions: Embry Riddle, Kishwaukee College, Northern Illinois University, Rock Valley College and Rockford University.
This is yet another effort to grow and keep talented youth in the region. There are several reasons to hire an intern including: get a fresh perspective; develop a potential employee; support talent development in your community. You will learn more about the different types of internships including summer interns, full time interns and job shadowing.
If you have never managed an intern before and would like to learn more about the process, please plan to attend. RSVP by Wednesday, October 16th to: Jeri Dedrick, JDedrick@EIGERlab.org or 815.969.4269.
