Two weeks ago she kicked off her sophomore season with a win and received her NJCAA championship ring in recognition of her past achievements. Now Revonnia Howard will take a big step for her future when she signs a letter of intent to continue her college education and basketball career with Troy University in Troy, Alabama, an NCAA Division I university from the Sun Belt Conference.
Howard will make her signing official in a brief ceremony on Thursday, November 15 at 4:00 p.m. in the Physical Education Center (PEC) on RVC's main campus.
As a freshman last season, Howard was the Golden Eagles' third leading scorer (12.3 ppg), second leading rebounder (11.7 rpg), and led the team in blocks, steals, and field goal percentage while helping lead RVC to a national championship. She was named the NJCAA tournament's most valuable player and tied a tournament record with 28 rebounds in RVC's quarterfinal game against Montgomery College- Rockville.
She was also named first team all-conference and Region IV Tournament MVP last season.
