RVC hosting inaugural October Safety Fest

Rock Valley College will host an inaugural October Safety Fest event on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Student Center Atrium on the main campus (3301 North Mulford Road), and on Thursday, October 18, 2012, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Stenstrom Center for Career Education (4151 Samuelson Road).  

 

The purpose of this event is to educate and bring awareness to the Rock Valley College community about everyday safety, healthy relationships, personal wellness, and available resources. This event is open to the entire community.   

Interactive stations, safety tips, and resources will include:

  • Distracted Driving Obstacle Course (Should you really drive and text?)
  • RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Training
  • RSAC (Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling) Tips on Healthy Relationships
  • Wellness Screening
  • Safety Challenge Exercise
  • Sign-up for RVC Alerts Mass Notification (RVC students only)  
This event is presented by the Rock Valley College Non-Violence Education and Outreach Committee (NEOC) with support from RVC Student Life and the RVC Black Student Alliance club.
