Project JumpStart 

Improve your job skills


Project JumpStart is free for you.

Project JumpStart is a free eight-week program for students 18 years and older.  Classes are held twice a week and each of the sessions lasts two and a half hours.  The program will help you develop the skills that are needed to get a job.

Job readiness training will include:

  • Resume writing
  • Interview skills
  • What employers expect
  • How to complete written and online job applications
  • How to search for jobs
  • Vocabulary building with an emphasis on business vocabulary
  • A job fair
  • Employment interviews


Those who successfully complete Project JumpStart will:

  • Learn to make informed decisions, set goals and take responsibility for their own actions
  • Develop the ability to use oral and written communication on the job
  • Learn to interact with others in a workplace setting and participate as members of a team
  • Develop an understanding of their place in the world of work by recognizing their strengths and challenges and how these relate to their job
  • Understand their role in a job and what behavior is appropriate
