Class Fees

In-Person Four-Hour Defensive Driving Course (DDC-4) And “Alive @ 25”
 

  • Alive @ 25 is only for drivers under 21 years of age
  • Cost = $50 for citations issued on or after January 1, 2017; ($40 for citations issued before January 1, 2017)
     

In- Person Eight - Hour Defensive Driving Course (DDC-8)
 

  • Cost = $75 for citations issued on or after January 1, 2017 ($55 for citations issued before January 1, 2017)

 

Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving (ADD)

  • Cost = $90

 

Online Course (DDC-4)

  • Takes 4-6 hours to complete
  • Includes a test
  • See the application you received from the police officer for more details
  • Cost = $75 for citations issued on or after January 1, 2017 ($55 for citations issued before January 1, 2017)

 


If you elect to take a class through another provider, they will charge you for their services also.    The fee paid to the other school is their tuition. The class fee you pay to the county where the ticket is issued does not transfer.  Also, the other school will not report your completion, they simply allow you to attend the class and provide a certificate of completion.  You are responsible for sending the original certificate of completion to Rock Valley College Traffic Safety Program, within 160 days from the date of the ticket. Late certificates will not be given credit.
