02 CAPS studentsAssessment Tools for Deciding Career/Major

CHOICES is a computerized program that opens a world of opportunities with excellent information on career self-assessment, occupation, majors and colleges. If you aren't sure about educational or career options, CHOICES can survey you in three areas:

Interests
  • Report highlights top interest areas and lists hundreds of occupations with descriptions, rates of pay, future trends, educational requirements and much more.

Transferable Skills

  • Choices will help identify your transferable work content skills and identify occupations that relate to each of your skills.

Work Importance Locator (Values)

  • Helps you to learn more about your work values and what is important to you in a job.

If you are interested in any of the activities available through CHOICES and/or discussing the results, please contact the Career Services and Placement office at 815.921.4091

MBTI

The Myers Briggs Type Inventory is a nationally recognized personality assessment tool. The test results in a 10 page career report that offers information on the type of work environment, tasks, job families and specific occupations that would best suit your personality type. The report also offers suggestions targeted for the challenges your personality type might experience in pursuing career goals.

The Assessment is taken over the Internet and the results are sent to the Career Services and Placement Office. You must make an appointment with the career counselor, Art Delgado, to interpret the results and receive your printed copy. To receive more information and the web site address, please call (815) 921-4091
